SUMMER 2018 + MUSIC DRIVE: PARTNERING WITH SOUTH UNIVERSITY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Grammy Award WINNER RALLIES DRIVE FOR INSTRUMENTS TO EMPOWER CLEVELAND YOUTH WITH MUSIC EDUCATION ENRICHMENT AT RAMAH JUNIOR ACADEMY
(Cleveland, OH) (MAY 2018) Monday, May 21, 2018 will begin the drive for instrument donations to the Music Program at Ramah Junior Academy. Minister Robert “Elijah Storm” Daniels began his career in the music industry in the 1970’s under the tutelage of Motown legend Norman Whitfield, and has worked with many platinum selling artists to date. Recently celebrating it’s 93rd anniversary, Ramah Junior Academy, a Title 1 school founded in 1925, is the one of the oldest African-American Christian Junior academy’s in the mid west, exclaims Principle Celeste Giles. As a teacher of their music program, Mr. Daniels volunteers his time working with Kindergarteners through 8th graders teaching them music fundamentals while also providing vocal training.
His vision is to put together an orchestra where the students will receive training that will help them acquire scholarships for college. He hopes to receive enough instruments this summer that will supply each child with an instrument to learn once the next school year begins in the fall. Mr. Daniels hopes the request will touch the hearts of those who understand the importance of music and the arts in education, and how the expression of this art and cultural experience can positively impact the lives of these children, who come from different backgrounds, and are yet thriving with the right foundation and support.
Donations of new and used instruments will be received at Ramah Junior Academy at 4770 Lee Road Cleveland, OH 44128. Instruments will be graciously received with the hopes of a local and national response to this need. “I am amazed at how many resources there are out here, but it’s really about connecting those resources to the kids that need them the most,” explains Mr. Daniels. For more information on how you can contribute to the Music Program’s drive, please contact Ramah Junior Academy at 216-581-2626.
